CEO's Message

The UNFCCC recognizes that human health and the health of our planet are inextricably linked and that our civilization depends on human health, flourishing natural systems, and the wise stewardship of natural resources. With natural systems being degraded to an extent unprecedented in human history, both our health and that of our planet are in peril. Planetary Health is our communal apprehension.

Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) prime directive is to seek the balance between economic growth and environmental sustainability. Our vision in 2022 is to be the leading partner for green growth and climate action in formulating low carbon initiatives, programs and offering solutions in line with Malaysia’s goal of becoming a Net Zero GHG Emission Nation by 2050. As CEO, it is my desire and commitment to realise this vision to ensure that MGTC exponentially leaps towards its greatest accomplishment.

Amid the pandemic and natural disasters, putting our efforts to a temporary halt unfolds a moment of reflection and opportunity for MGTC to double its unified efforts to educate and nurture the public on climate change and sustainable lifestyles. Protection of the earth is the responsibility of its constituents and now is time for the local corporation to step forward to shift for a resilient and inclusive circular economy to build back a better and greener Malaysia.

I am privileged to be helming MGTC, especially at a time when there is increasing awareness and consequently increasing demand for climate action. MGTC will now play a more active role in driving the country’s green agenda and sustainable development. We have an enthusiastic and motivated team when coupled with a unified vision and objectives, the effort to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a country that can undertake bold climate action while ensuring shared economic prosperity is most certain.
