MGTC visited the Centre of Hydrogen Energy, Institute of Future Energy located at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur on 2nd July 2020. Participants from MGTC were Mr Shamsul Bahar Mohd Noor and Ms Wan Nadia Kamarudin.
UTM team lead by Prof Dr Arshad Ahmad, Director, Institute of Future Energy and his team members are Prof Madya Adnan Ripin (Director, Centre of Hydrogen Energy), Prof Dr Mohamed Mahmoud El Sayed Nasef, Dr Roshafima Rasit Ali, Dr Nurfatehah Wahyuny Che Jusoh, Encik Azrin Ariffin, Encik Mohd Fadhzir Ahmad Kamaroddin.
MGTC team was briefed on the role and project activities undertaken at Centre of Hydrogen Energy, Institute of Future Energy. The centre focuses on the development of hydrogen production and purification system, materials for hydrogen storage system, design and prototyping of various application system, testing and standardizations, and economic, social as well as policy related studies. In UTMKL campus, the team have installed a 60 kW fuel cell as a backup power supply for the campus computer system as well as conducting research activities on materials for energy applications. The visit was concluded with a tour to the UTMKL’s Centre of Hydrogen Energy Lab.
