Energy Management Gold Standard (EMGS)

The ASEAN Energy Management Scheme (AEMAS) which has been initiated by the ASEAN Centre of Energy (ACE) since 2010 is a regional recognition with the main purpose of managing and reducing energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions in the ASEAN region while promoting best practices in energy management. AEMAS was launched officially in July 2011 and is the first regional certification, specifically developed for Southeast Asia with funding from the European Union. 

In Malaysia, MGTC was appointed as AEMAS Country Coordinator and Certification Body on behalf of ACE to promote, facilitate and process the applications made by the end users in the country. Energy Management Gold Standard (EMGS) is a recognition given under the AEMAS, to end-users who have successfully implemented a sustainable energy management system according to the scheme’s requirement.
