Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint (LCMB)

Use green driving best practices

Driving technique has a lot to do with your fuel economy. Avoid sudden starts and stops and go the speed limit. Not only does speeding and herky-jerky driving kill your MPG, it's dangerous. And even if no one gets hurt in a fender bender, how green is it to get a new bumper or have your car re-painted? Also, drive wise and minimize unnecessary miles by doing errands in one trip, getting good directions, and calling ahead.

Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint

MGTC under the supervision of KASA, is a focal point in decarbonizing Malaysia’s transportation sector which saw the completion of Low Carbon Mobility Blueprint 2021-2030 (LCMB) in 2020.

The policy framework seeks to reduce emissions from the transportation sector, which currently ranks as the second-largest CO2 emitter in the nation after the energy sector, contributing 25% to 30% of the nation’s GHG emissions with predominantly internal combustion engines (ICE) vehicles on the road.

The blueprint deploys a policy framework to mainstream the shift towards electrification in the transportation industry as a key strategy to diminish our emissions and contribute towards the achievement of our national Paris Agreement GHG target.

LCMB provides a way forward to progressively reduce the nation’s carbon dioxide emissions, to phase out the use of fossil fuel ICE vehicles in the future in alignment with neighbouring Thailand’s and Singapore’s commitments as well as global best practices. LCMB also aiming for 10,000 EV charging points throughout Malaysia by 2025 .
